Monday 16th January 2012 | Happy New Year to Everyone

Happy New Year to Everyone

All is alive and kicking in the Karnivool camp. We finished 2011 with an amazing show at Mood Indigo Festival in Mumbai India. A big hello, thankyou and welcome to our new Indian friends, we look forward to the next time we meet! We have hit the ground running in 2012, we are still in the process of writing the follow up to Sound Awake, in true Karnivool fashion it is a long epic road, but we are extremely excited about how she is shaping up. We really appreciate your continued patience and support and can't wait to deliver to you guys the best we've got.

Check out the new videos on our AV Page and pictures from Mood Indigo, Mumbai. Our first Indian experience was a mind blowing and humbling one..

Friday 13th May 2011 | Brisbane show SOLD OUT, second show announced and on sale plus national supports!

Tickets for Karnivool’s June / July tour of Australia have been going gangbusters with multiple shows selling out in several states. In order to meet the demand Karnivool have been able to re-route their truck and order in extra bottom end, and are very happy to be able to announce extra shows in both Brisbane and Melbourne. Both Melbourne shows at the Corner Hotel sold out within days of tickets going on sale, so an extra show has been added on Wednesday July 6. Brisbane’s Hi-Fi show has also now sold out, so the band will swing past on the way back from Cairns and play another Hi-Fi on Monday July 4. No other shows will be added and tickets are selling fast, so jump on it! Don’t miss Karnivool’s only Australian tour for the year, and the first chance to see new material from the band in years!

Karnivool are also very happy to announce the national supports for this tour, who will be getting in the van with the boys and adding to the unholy racket that rolls around the nation. In true Karnivool style it’s a truly eclectic line-up! We would love you to welcome Perth drum and bass maestro Shockone who will be giving audiences a sneak preview of his forthcoming album. Joining him will be Melbourne Death Hop two-piece Over-Reactor, with their confronting live show. Old friends and new, it’s going to be one hell of a line-up.

Karnivool are also happy to announce the first of their European festival shows in August, where they are playing the main stage at Area 4 festival in Germany along with such artists as NOFX, The National, Jimmy Eat World and the Deftones. More festivals on the continent will be announced shortly.
Thursday 14th April 2011 | First and only Australian tour for 2011 announced!

They’ve toured their highly acclaimed ‘Sound Awake’ album all around the world, and now Karnivool’s eager Australian fans need wait no more as the Perth sonic maelstrom announce an extensive Australian tour taking place throughout June and into July. The band will travel to capital cities on the East Coast, into regional North Queensland (finally!) and finish in Adelaide whilst stopping at some key regional centres along the way. Tickets go on sale Monday April 18th.

It’s Karnivool’s first full Australian tour since the New Day tour in June and July 2010, but they’ve hardly sat on their hands since then… as soon as the last slab of fat bottom end rang out from that run, the band got on a plane and headed to Europe to play on the main stage at Sonisphere Festival in the UK (along with Slayer, Alice in Chains, Pendulum and Iron Maiden) before spending 5 weeks headlining throughout the US and Canada. Not content with this they again crossed continents headlining and selling out major venues throughout mainland Europe and the UK, proving that not even Europe’s coldest winter in a decade could keep the band off the road. Having your merch snowed in and selling out iconic venues like the Melkweg in Amsterdam and Scala in London was a new experience for Karnivool, but added to the fun!

In news sure to be welcomed by their forever patient fan base, Karnivool have been writing solidly in the rehearsal room since their last Australian tour and in great news for fans the band will be sharing some new tracks with audiences on this tour. It will be the first airing of new material since ‘Sound Awake’, an album which helped establish the band’s worldwide reputation, who knows what direction this new batch of songs will take!

Karnivool tours are known to sell out in record time, so get in quick as this will be the first and only Australian tour from the band in 2011!

Check the Tours section for dates and details.
Wednesday 16th March 2011 | We are playing shows in WA soon!

We know, it’s a little weird to make a lot of official noise for a Perth band playing a gig in their hometown (along with other shows of course!) as that should be normal activity, but with the crazy couple of years we have had it is indeed a rarity so we need to make a fuss about it!

We spent most of 2009 and 2010 on tour in Australia or in more exotic climes, with the touring schedule which rolled out in support of the worldwide release for the Sound Awake album taking us all over the world. We have actually lost count of the amount of shows, but went out on 3 tours of Europe, 3 tours of the US as well as visits to NZ, releases in 15 countries and significant Australian touring as well. Our last run of shows was a headline tour of Europe through December through one of the most brutal winters there in living memory, ending in a sold out show at Scala in London.

Between everyone's various projects and the ongoing work in the studio writing the follow up to Sound Awake, we have found a window to play a couple of special shows in WA. These shows will be the last of the Sound Awake era, as well as a possible pointer of things to come.
Tuesday 31st August 2010 | US now, EUR tomorrow

Karnivool are about to hit the tail end of their current US tour, which kickstarted with a stop off in the UK for an appearance at Sonisphere festival, opening the same stage that Iron Maiden and Slayer dominated later that day. The band had a blast and still continue too!

European tour dates in December have been announced and are onsale now. Check the Tours section. More shows to be announced soon.

Wednesday 3rd February 2010 | Big Day Shout Out

Wow. It feels like I've just stepped off a bullet train back at Perth Station, scratching my head, thinking "did that just really fucking happen?!" On behalf of the band I'd like to send out a sincere thank you to all the folk that came to see us play at the big day out shows across Australia and NZ, to all the other bands, Sahara, Ken and Viv and the choice folk at BDO - thanks for creating a beautiful monster, hasn't she grown?! 2 weeks of pure unadulterated awesomeness! Thanks also to all who voted for us on JJJ's Hottest 100, and we can't wait to hit Europe and USA for more shenanigans. Good Times Ahoy!

Peace
Drew and the Karnivool kids.

"SOUND IS THE FACTOR WHICH HOLDS IT TOGETHER".
Saturday 30th January 2010 | US / EUROPEAN tour dates and other news

With the Big Day Out tour coming to an end tomorrow and the Vool scoring two notches in this year's triple j Hottest 100 - #47 for Set Fire To The Hive and #63 for All I Know - it's been a great start to the Summer for the guys already. However, no rest for the wicked, with the band having barely any rest before they head out on an extensive tour of the US and Europe throughout March and April. Most details in the Tours section, with a few more dates still to be announced.

Sound Awake is released in the US on the 16th February and you can pre-order it by heading to http://www.theomegaorder.com/KARNIVOOL-Sound-Awake-CD-Shirt-Bundle

On March 5, the album will be released in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands and Sweden.
Friday 30th October 2009 | Sine Waves and Mirrors Tour lineup changes

Unfortunately, US prog rockers Dredg will no longer be touring Australia with Karnivool this November/December. After further planning and some unexpected twists Dredg management have announced the band will not be in Australia for the Sine Waves and Mirrors tour. Karnivool apologise to their fan base for this unforeseen change but this decision was completely beyond their control. Taking their place is Sydney live and radio favourites Regular John.

Melbourne fans will also get an extra show with a date added at The Palace Theatre on Thursday December 3rd – tickets for this show are on sale now and the show on Wednesday December 2nd is about to sell out as other shows noted below. Having just completed a hugely successful international tour over the past couple of months Karnivool are fully primed to deliver killer sets for their Australian fans.

‘All I Know’, the new single from the Sound Awake album is currently being serviced to radio, with work being completed on yet another striking video full of special effects with an abstract sci-fi style clip built around a bizarre labyrinth.

KARNIVOOL will return to the USA next year for the release of their ‘Sound Awake’ album in February.

A reminder these are the last shows for KARNIVOOL in 2009, tickets are selling fast so make sure you don’t miss out!
